Let the Y help you achieve your new year's resolutions!

Whether you're hoping to lose weight, read more, make new friends, or eat healthier, the Y can help you cross off your goals for 2024! We're more than a gym. We're also a community center that offers a variety of clubs, programs, fitness options, events, and more! We're excited to help you make 2024 the best year yet.

1. Move more

Let's start with the basics. Simply moving more throughout your day can significantly impact your overall health and well-being.Regular exercise in any form has been shown to help you live longer and healthier - giving you more years to achieve your goals!

Our fitness centers have cardio equipment for every ability level. Use the stair climbers, hand bikes, treadmills, and other options to get you moving while you catch up on emails or chat with a friend.

Jump into one of our unlimited group exercise classes, like Zumba or Cycle, to have a certified instructor lead you through a fun, high-energy class! If you're on the go, you can take these workouts with you by logging in to PhilaYatHome.org!

2. Get stronger

Building muscle is on so many resolution lists, but figuring out the best workout plan to meet those goals can be difficult. Luckily, the Y has a variety of strength-building options for our members to choose from!

Are you looking for 1-on-1 attention to keep you accountable? Not sure which exercises are best to help target specific areas of your body? Our certified personal trainers can help get and keep you on the right track toward meeting your goals.

Maybe you like feeling supported by a team that can help motivate you along the way. In our Small Group Training classes, a certified instructor will challenge you as part of a group, while still providing the individualized attention you need. 

3. Pursue a hobby or learn some thing new

Make time to do the things you love this year! We offer programs for all ages and interests! You can explore your passions in things like dance, martial arts, and science. Registration for our Winter programs is now open.

4. Spend more time outside

Are you looking to put down the screens and devices and get more fresh air? Spending time outdoors is great for kids and parents alike! Many of our YMCA locations have outdoor walking paths, playgrounds, basketball courts - even outdoor pools! When nice weather hits the forecast, some of our Group X classes will move outside to soak up the sun, too!

5. Make new friends

Socializing is important at every age. As a community center, we offer more than just gym time. Many of our YMCA locations have clubs, pick-up games, designated times for card games, and even parent-focused groups you can join. We invite you to check out your local YMCA's page to see what's happening at your Y. Feel free to give us a call or schedule a tour to learn more!

6. Give back to your community

Making a positive change in the world can start right in your own community. Whether you want to volunteer, give blood, make a donation, or find another way to contribute positively, the Y is a great place to start!

We have volunteer options across the region, from coaching sports, to helping with events, and much more! The Y offers a wide variety of opportunities for individuals and businesses to give back as volunteers

As a non-profit organization, each dollar we raise goes directly to supporting the mission of the Y. Find a way that you or your company can help make our communities better with your contribution of time or funding.
