Last month, 17 gymnasts from the Phoenixville YMCA Gymnastics team competed against over 500 gymnasts from private clubs at the USAG Xcel State Championships. Collectively, the gymnasts won an impressive 43 individual and all-around medals.
Senior gymnast, Nia A., was the Diamond Vault and All-Around State Champion and is currently ranked 77th nationally! Tory Q. was the Platinum Bar State Champion. The Xcel Platinums placed 6th out of 46 teams and the Xcel Diamonds were 6th out of 24 teams. Seven of the gymnasts will compete at the Xcel Regional Meet in May. The gymnasts are looking forward to competing at the YMCA State Championships and YMCA Nationals in the following months.
